How do I extract frames from a WMV video as TIFF images?
+
Upload the WMV and open the options. Frame Extraction has two modes: Single Frame saves one TIFF from the second you enter (for example 1, 5 or 10.5), and All Frames saves every frame of the video as a TIFF image. There is no every-Nth-frame or one-per-second mode.
Same resolution as the WMV video — a 1080p source produces 1920×1080 TIFF frames; a 4K source produces 3840×2160 TIFF frames. Use /resize-image/ after extraction if you need smaller thumbnails or social-media-sized assets.
Yes, with All Frames in the Frame Extraction option, but watch the count: one minute of 30 fps video gives 1,800 TIFF images. For a single still, choose Single Frame and enter the second you want instead.
װעט די בילדער TIFF װײַזן די פֿאַרב־גרײס WMV?

HDR footage is not tone-mapped: each frame is converted from the WMV as it is decoded, so a frame from an HDR WMV can look flat or washed out as a TIFF. Standard (SDR) video keeps its colours.
ווי לאַנג װעט די ראָם־אַרײַנשרײַבונג פֿון WMV צו TIFF נעמען?
+
It depends on the size and length of the file. Small documents and images are usually ready quickly. Long videos take the longest, because most video conversions re-encode every frame.
Can I extract frames at specific timestamps in the WMV video?
+
One at a time. Single Frame takes one time in seconds (for example 83 for 1:23) and saves that frame as a TIFF. There is no field for a list of times, so run the conversion again for each extra timestamp.
Is my WMV video private during frame extraction?
+
Yes. Uploaded WMV files are processed on our own conversion servers, no person reviews them, and they are never shared. The upload and the converted TIFF are both deleted automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result. See /privacy/ for the full policy.
No. The converter has no scene detection and no one-per-second mode: it saves either a single frame at the second you enter or every frame. For one image per scene, extract single frames at the times where the scenes change.
Can I use the extracted TIFF frames commercially?
+
Yes, subject to whatever licence governs the source WMV content. The format change adds no claim — we add no watermark, embed no tracking, and claim no licence over the TIFF output. Public-domain video produces public-domain frames; your own footage stays your own.
