PSD to WebP Processing FAQ

How do I convert PSD to WebP without losing image quality?
+
Upload your PSD file and the converter applies format-aware quality optimization for the WebP output. For lossless targets (PNG, TIFF, BMP) every pixel is preserved; for lossy targets (JPG, WebP, AVIF) you can tune the quality factor before download.
Transparency survives when going to PNG, WebP, TIFF, GIF, or SVG. Converting to JPG flattens the alpha channel against a white background — if transparency matters for your use (web overlays, logos), target a transparency-aware format instead of WebP = JPG.
In most conversions, camera EXIF fields such as the camera model and GPS position are not carried into the WebP. There is no setting on this page to keep or remove metadata, so check the result with a metadata viewer if it matters.
Several files in one job need a paid plan. Free use is one file per conversion, one conversion an hour. On a paid plan you can add several files to one job, then download each result on its own or all of them in one ZIP.
For format conversion we run the same libpng / libjpeg-turbo / libwebp / ImageMagick pipelines a desktop editor uses, with identical output quality. The difference is workflow — desktop tools handle one file at a time; we accept a batch and run them in parallel server-side.
Default behaviour is 1:1 — your WebP output has the same pixel dimensions as the PSD source. To resize as part of the conversion, use /resize-image/ before or after this step. Chaining is faster than re-rendering at a new size inside the conversion pipeline.
Yes. Uploaded PSD files are processed on our own conversion servers, no person reviews them, and they are never shared. The upload and the converted WebP are both deleted automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result. See /privacy/ for the full policy.
A PSD file with strong existing compression (heavily lossy JPG) often grows when re-encoded to a lossless WebP (PNG, TIFF); a high-bitrate lossless PSD often shrinks dramatically going to JPG / WebP. The ratio depends on image content — photographs compress very differently from line art or screenshots.
Yes. The conversion is a format change only — copyright on the image content stays with you (or whoever held it on the PSD source). We add no watermark, embed no tracking pixels, and claim no licence over the WebP output.

PSD

PSD (Photoshop Document) is the native file format for Adobe Photoshop. PSD files store layered images, allowing for non-destructive editing and conserving design elements. They are crucial for web-optimized graphic design and photo manipulation.

WebP

WebP provides superior lossless and lossy compression for images on the web, developed by Google.
